Gender specific health: Is prevention of disease and disability in middle-aged and elderly men different from women?

The health outcomes of men and women are influenced by their gender, so, for optimal health, specific attention to health disparities and similarities between the genders is important. In a recent report, researchers from ErasmusAGE, in Rotterdam, the Netherlands focused on gender-specific health and described non-communicable health issues facing middle-aged men and women. The results from the report are summarized in infographics on healthy ageing, risk factors for non-communicable diseases, health issues in middle-aged and elderly men and women, and prevention.
