From June 28 to July 1, 2016, ErasmusAge PhD student Loes Jaspers presented at the World Congress on Active Ageing (WCAA) in Melbourne, Australia. The conference is the largest gathering of experts and stakeholders in the field of active aging that had ever been assembled. Governments worldwide are interested in keeping their ageing populations healthy and active throughout their life and this conference provided new information for governments, researchers, healthcare practitioners, and others to implement into practice.
At the WCAA, Loes gave a presentation about her work in the development of a healthy ageing score. Using data from the Rotterdam Study, Loes’ work focused on the age and gender differences associated with aging in the Rotterdam Study population. Her excellent work earned her a second place prize for the student oral presentations.
